Barnfonden is a non-religious and politically independent child rights organization, established in Malmö, Sweden in 1991. As a member of ChildFund Alliance, we work with and for children to strengthen their rights and ensure their safety, as they navigate an increasingly changing world.

Everything Barnfonden does is focused on the child. By using a holistic perspective on children’s development, we diligently plan and carry out our work in close collaboration with children, families and others working to make positive change in communities. Children’s rights, children’s safety, concern for the environment and climate, and gender equality and inclusion are key elements of all Barnfonden initiatives.

Together, we address the root causes of poverty and vulnerability, guided by the concepts of empowerment and sustainability.

Our vision is a sustainable world where children are listened to, cared for, and respected. A world where every child can say: – I am safe, – I am healthy, – I am happy, – I am educated, – I have a voice.
