Harnessing the Power of Rugby to Change Lives

ChildFund Rugby harnesses the power of rugby to drive positive social change, supporting children and young people from communities in vulnerable situations to build leadership, resilience, and shape their own futures.

Through partnerships with rugby governing bodies, we deliver inclusive, play-based experiences that equip children and young people with the tools to thrive.

Rugby – A Powerful Tool for Change

Pass It Back – through integrated rugby and life skills learning, young people in vulnerable situations develop critical social and emotional skills – helping them achieve personal goals, build empathy, manage emotions, develop positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. These skills empower them to overcome challenges, lead positive change, and take active roles as leaders within their communities. Over half of coaches, players, and administrators are girls and young women.

Grassroots to Global – a community leadership initiative that connects grassroots rugby leaders through national forums to tackle barriers to participation in sport and community. More than 30 countries have participated to date, and the 2025 focus will be on getting more women into community coaching and leadership roles.
