WeWorld in Benin

Malnutrition remains one of the main causes of child mortality in Benin. Food insecurity also has lasting consequences on children's development.

WeWorld, which has worked in Benin since 2008, implements programs to strengthen food security among vulnerable groups, primarily women and children, with a range of school-based programs, and by working in partnership with rural health centers to promote good nutritional practices. In schools, our projects aim to improve the quality of education, through teacher training, improvements to school infrastructure, and the provision of educational resources.

WeWorld is also focused on improving community child protection arrangements through awareness-raising campaigns, capacity-building programs for educators, and the creation of child protection mechanisms.
