ChildFund Deutschland

Headquarters: Germany
Active: in more than 30 countries

ChildFund Deutschland is a child protection organization that aims to improve the future opportunities of children in need, their families, and their entire environment on an international scale since 1978. The aid and development projects focus mainly on child protection, education, health, livelihoods, nutrition, and women’s empowerment. Furthermore, ChildFund Deutschland provides emergency aid in crisis situations and promotes development-oriented action in society.

The specific measures and projects depend on the conditions and needs in each country. Child-focused projects, such as the support for school children in Myanmar, have a direct impact on children. Other aid measures, like agricultural projects in Ethiopia, impact the surroundings of children by improving the living conditions of families and communities. Most projects are carried out in cooperation with ChildFund organizations, but more and more projects are also implemented in direct collaboration between ChildFund Deutschland and local partner organizations.

ChildFund Deutschland’s aid and development projects are mainly financed by private donations and sponsorships. Moreover, ChildFund Deutschland is steadily increasing its collaboration with public donors such as the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), or the EU as well as German and European foundations.
