Enfants sans Frontières joins Un Enfant par la Main

On 10 June 2017, the Extraordinary General Assemblies of Enfants sans Frontières (Children Without Borders) and Un Enfant par la Main ratified the merger of the two organizations. The newly merged organization will be known as Un Enfant par la Main. Un Enfant par la Main is a member of ChildFund Alliance.

Enfants sans Frontières

Enfants sans Frontières is a French NGO for international solidarity founded in 1974. It promotes the education of disadvantaged children in a sustainable and global approach integrating the living conditions and environment of the child. The organization’s first project was a nutrition center in Gros Morne, Haiti.

Subsequently, the organization has focused on education, and today it helps more than 3,000 children in 82 schools in five countries; Haiti, Madagascar, Vietnam, Lebanon and Cameroon.

In Haiti, support programs for rural families have been in place for more than 10 years, including access to water, agricultural and economic development to enable families to educate their children.

Growing together for greater efficiency

The two organizations share a vision: to provide a better future for disadvantaged children. The merger will allow them to expand their activities, as well as their impact on the education of children. This union will give the organization a stronger voice with its partners, to be more visible to the general public, to more easily finance programs and to optimize costs.

The work undertaken by the new entity will be in the areas of education, health, nutrition, access to water, and economic and agricultural development.

Enfants sans Frontières and Un Enfant par la Main support the education of the children of Haiti
Following Hurricane Matthew in 2016, which devastated many school facilities in the southwestern part of the country, schools still lack materials and teaching tools. The poorest families are often unable to buy new supplies for their children. Thanks to the distribution of school supplies kits in eight schools in the communes of Aquin, Cavaillon and Saint Louis, we will be able to enroll 1,000 children and allow them to return to repaired schools at the beginning of the next school year.
