Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world. Its economy has been repeatedly hit by political crises and a series of devastating natural disasters. An estimated 59% of Haitians live in poverty and 25% in extreme poverty. Economic vulnerability, political instability, and climate change make Haiti one of the countries most subject to the negative consequences of natural shocks.

WeWorld has been present in Haiti since 2010, providing humanitarian aid following the devastating earthquake which struck the island, leaving over 220,000 victims and a terrible cholera epidemic. Today, we work in the regions of Anse Rouge and Terre Neuve and implement programs aimed at guaranteeing food security and improving environmental protection. We also manage initiatives to support civil society organizations and strengthen democratic participation.
